Kids Can

KidsCan is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading charity dedicated to helping Kiwi kids affected by poverty. They help tamarisk experiencing hardship by providing them food, jackets, shoes and health products to schools and early childhood centres across New Zealand.

They believe that with the above essentials, kids can participate in learning and have the opportunity for a better future.

Since KidsCan was founded in a garage in 2005, Our support is available to more than 200,000 tamariki in over 800 schools and 100 early childhood centres, with over 5 million items of food, clothing and health products being sent from our Auckland warehouse each year.

Child poverty is a serious issue in Aotearoa New Zealand. The 2020 Child Poverty Monitor estimated that 235,400 children in New Zealand are affected by poverty: that’s one in five of our tamariki.

With your support, we can provide the essentials to Kiwi kids in need and give them the opportunity for a better future.

Variety

Variety helps give disadvantaged Kiwi kids the childhood they deserve. Every day, 1 in 5 Kiwi kids go without the basics most of us take for granted. This has a profound impact on their health, education and self-esteem.

The aim is to give each child what they need for a happier, healthier childhood – the childhood that every Kiwi kid deserves.  If kids are missing out on extra-curricular opportunities, we give them the chance to join in.

With your help, when a child is going without essentials, the variety team can step in and give them exactly what they need – warm bedding, clothing, school uniforms and stationery.
